 As the benchmark for professional sporting events in northern Nevada, the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open is preparing to celebrate its 10th anniversary in style. Welcoming a new tournament director and adding new events and attractions to the week long tournament such as 18th Hole "Apres Golf" entertainment, a Taste of Reno on Hole 17, the 16th Hole Fiesta Loco, the Kidz Par-Tee Zone and the Get Fit Fore Charity walk, July 28 - Aug. 3, 2008 is set to be a week for the record books. The Legends at Sparks Marina Reno-Tahoe Open is quickly approaching and with it, a chance to win great golf gear and other prizes. Golf fans can benefit the Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation, the non-profit entity that operates the annual PGA TOUR tournament, by placing bets on the number of anticipated birdies during the 2008 tournament, which takes place July 28 – Aug. 3. Bets may range from 10 cents to $10 per birdie, are fully tax deductible and have allowed the organization to donate more than $1.7 million to charity over the last nine years. Historically, players have carded an average of 1,500 birdies each year. The person making the winning bet receives a new flat screen TV and Nintendo Wii, compliments of Best Buy.
